Cooking times, in a small response.
Request a supported food and method, then display the range with its safety guidance and source link.
Endpoint
GET /api/v1/time returns JSON. No key is required. The limit is 60 requests per connection IP per 60-second window. A 429 response includes Retry-After; invalid inputs return 422 with a readable error.
Portion parameters
food is a catalogue slug. method is air-fryer, oven, boil, grill, stovetop, slow-cooker or roast. For a portion, oz sets ounces; temp sets °F by default. Optional thickness is inches, frozen is 0 or 1, doneness is standard or well, and altitude is feet (0-10,000). Bounds come from each food’s model. For slow-cooker chicken, heat is high or low and the reference batch is fixed.
Units and roast parameters
units=metric uses °C for temp, centimeters for thickness and grams or kilograms for size according to the model. oz always means ounces. Roast requests use lb, optional cut and stuffed=0 or 1 for turkey. The roasting chart temperature is fixed.
Egg parameters
Use food=eggs&method=boil with doneness=soft, jammy or hard, start=hot or cold, egg_size=medium, large or extra-large, and optional altitude. Texture estimates for undercooked eggs require pasteurized eggs.
Response contract
answer.range contains the lower and upper times in minutes. temp_f remains Fahrenheit in the response, and safe includes the required internal temperature and rest when applicable. sources supplies titles, URLs and retrieval dates. typical_range is always true; a time is never a safety guarantee.

The /embed/ widget accepts food, method and weight for a roast, or portion settings for a food. It links to the full guide and includes a safety reminder. Frames are allowed on this route only. Size it with a width of 100% and a height of 280 pixels.
